The season continued off to a good start on Saturday where the 1st team gained a valuable point away at Lostock St Gerards. Fellow relegation team Lostock hit the bar in the first half half but otherwise rarely troubled the Eagles goal, and in the dying minutes a deflected shot by Eagley’s Mike Boateng forced a great save from the Lostock keeper to keep it goalless and a share of the points.
Meanwhile the Eagley reserves had more luck at home where they beat Wyre Villa comfortably 5 nil. A goal from Player manager Oli Clarke and one from Andre Gillfilan contributed, but a great hatrick from man of the match Ashley Morris sealed the points and a great performance from the Eagles.
Monday evening sees the Reserves in action at home again v Hesketh Bank and Tuesday sees more action as the first team travel to locals Stoneclough. Both games have the earlier kick off of 6-30pm.
