This Week’s Games

News on 8 Aug , 2016

The busy Eagley schedule continues tonight with Gary Kay’s Reserve side facing locals Tempest United in the Division 3 clash. The Eagles came out 2-1 winners thanks to a brace from Phil Eastwood, and Gary Kay will be hoping for much of the same tonight. It is a 6.45pm kick off.

Then its the big one! The long awaited local Derby where the 1st team face neighbours Turton FC tomorrow night at the Dunscar ground. This is  the oldest recorded local Derby match in footballing history so both Teams will be keen to make their mark.

Simon Whaley’s men went down 6-3 on Saturday away to Longridge but it wasn’t all doom and gloom. After being 5 nil down at half time it could of been a cricket score, but the Eagles regrouped and in no time had got 3 goals back! But the deficit was too much and one more for Longridge sealed the misery. But if the second half could of wiped out the 1st it would of been a much better scoreline.

Meanwhile Turton hosted Hesketh bank on Saturday and had a great start to their campaign in the Premier league where they came out 4 nil winners.

But as we all know in local derby’s its anybody’s game, lets just hope it goes well for the Eagles! Please come down and show your support for a great moment in history, whilst supporting grassroots football.

Kick off time again is 6.45pm all welcome.
